Child Safety Standards

Last updated: 14 May 2026

SoHey is operated by So Hey Limited, a company registered in England and Wales under company number 09957307.

SoHey is currently in beta and is available only to users aged 18 or over.

Even though SoHey is not intended for children or under-18 users, we take child safety extremely seriously.

1. 18+only

SoHey is not intended for users under the age of 18.

Users under 18 are not permitted to create an account or use SoHey during beta.

We may use age confirmation, onboarding checks or other controls to help prevent under-18 access.

If we become aware that a user is under 18, we may suspend or delete the account and take any further action we consider necessary.

2. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation

SoHey has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse, child sexual exploitation, child sexual abuse material, grooming, or any behaviour that harms or exploits children.

This includes:

  • Child sexual abuse material.
  • Sexual exploitation or abuse of minors.
  • Attempts to contact, groom or exploit minors.
  • Requests for sexual images or sexual activity involving minors.
  • Sharing, requesting, threatening to share or encouraging child sexual abuse material.
  • Any attempt to use SoHey to facilitate harm to a child.
  • Any content or conduct that endangers a child.

This applies even though SoHey is an 18+ service.

3. Prohibited behaviour

You must not use SoHey to:

  • Create, upload, share, request or promote child sexual abuse material.
  • Sexually exploit or abuse any child.
  • Attempt to contact a child for sexual, exploitative or harmful purposes.
  • Pretend to be under 18 or misrepresent your age to misuse the app.
  • Encourage a child to create an account or use SoHey.
  • Use SoHey to arrange, facilitate or conceal harm to a child.
  • Share sexual, exploitative, abusive or harmful content involving a child.
  • Engage in any conduct that may put a child at risk.

Any such behaviour may result in immediate account action and may be reported to law enforcement or other appropriate authorities.

4. Reporting child safety concerns

If you see or suspect any child safety issue on SoHey, report it immediately.

You can report in the app where reporting is available or contact:

info@sohey.app

Please include as much information as possible, such as:

  • The user involved.
  • What happened.
  • When it happened.
  • Any relevant profile, request, check-in or meet details.
  • Any other information that may help us investigate.

Do not send us illegal content unless specifically required by law or requested by an appropriate authority. Instead, report the concern and describe what you saw.

5. Immediate danger

SoHey is not an emergency service.

If a child is in immediate danger, or if you believe a crime is taking place, contact the police, emergency services or relevant local authority immediately.

In the UK, call 999 in an emergency.

6. How to respond

When we receive a child safety report, we may review relevant information and take action.

This may include:

  • Removing access to the app.
  • Suspending or deleting an account.
  • Blocking or restricting a user.
  • Preserving relevant information where appropriate.
  • Reporting to law enforcement or other appropriate authorities.
  • Taking steps to protect users and the service.

During beta, reports are reviewed manually by SoHey.

7. Law enforcement and legal requests

SoHey may cooperate with law enforcement, regulators or other appropriate authorities where required or permitted by law.

We may disclose information where we believe it is necessary to protect users, protect children, prevent harm, investigate suspected illegal conduct, comply with legal obligations, or establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

8. Moderation and enforcement

SoHey may take enforcement action where child safety concerns arise.

This may include action based on reports, account information, app activity, safety information or other information available to us.

We may act without prior notice where we believe this is necessary for child safety, user safety, legal compliance or protection of the service.
